Kate and Gerry McCann have thanked their supporters in a message posted on the findmadeleine.com website to coincide with the third anniversary of the disappearance of their daughter Madeleine.
The message says: “Thank you to everyone who has stayed with us during the past three years – hoping, praying and supporting our efforts to find Madeleine and bring her home. We know we couldn’t have achieved as much as we have without this help.”
It continues: “Milestones and anniversaries are never easy, but the work to find our little Madeleine will continue regardless. It might be three years without Madeleine but it certainly doesn´t feel like we are at the end of the line – far from it.”
Madeleine McCann went missing from a holiday apartment in Praia da Luz on May 3 2007. To mark the anniversary, a new video has also been released on the website showing Kate and Gerry in their efforts to find Madeleine and also featuring a new image of Madeleine (above).
Speaking in an interview with the BBC World Service, Gerry McCann said: “Early on, we couldn´t think of anything else but the worst case…You just hope that she is now not at harm and she is getting love and happiness. That’s all I can hope for.”
