Sixty Ukrainian tourists in Madeira have obtained subsidiary protection status today and will be integrated into Madeiran society, the regional government has said, while 223 Russian tourists should be repatriated by Monday. Regional president of Madeira Miguel Albuquerque said: “We will ensure the stay of these (Ukrainian) tourists… They will have the status of protection until they are integrated into our society, particularly in terms of work, which will not be difficult because they are highly qualified people and willing to join our collective life”.
