Minutes after it was reported that parliament in Lisbon had approved what may well be the final draft of the bill to decriminalise medically-assisted suicide, president of Madeira’s parliament, José Manuel Rodrigues, was speaking out, complaining his region had not been consulted and asking for the whole thing to be vetoed (for a third time…) Marcelo has said – admittedly before this objection raised by Madeira – that he means to come to a decision by Christmas.
