The ferry service linking Funchal, Madeira, to Portimão will resume on Monday, July 8.
Like last year, the service will only be available during summer and will be served by the same Volcán de Tijarafe ship that was used seven years ago when the ferry link was scrapped. There will be 12 round trips a year.
The ferry will leave Tenerife in the Canary Islands on Sundays, arrive in Funchal on Mondays and reach Portimão on Tuesday mornings at 9.30am. Three hours later, it will make its return to Funchal where it will arrive on Wednesdays before reaching its final destinations in the Canary Islands on Thursdays.
The cheapest tickets start from €29.10 for Madeira residents to €85 for non-Madeira-residents. Children between four and 11 years of age benefit from a 50% discount.
