Almost 14 years since 3-year-old Madeleine McCann vanished from a holiday apartment in Praia da Luz near Lagos, Metropolitan Police are asking for more funding to continue the search. Scotland Yard has already spent upwards of €17 million looking for the missing child. Now they want a further €400,000 say reports. Considering German police have guaranteed that they ‘have their man’ (a convicted sex offender in a German jail), the suspect’s lawyer has remarked: “Everyone wonders what the British need the money for. Obviously, Scotland Yard is not so sure about the German investigation after all”.
