British police investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann are to receive another £350,000 to get them through to 2022, reports the Portuguese press today, suggesting this means they continue to retain hope that the little girl who vanished while on holiday in the Algarve over 14 years ago “could still be alive”. This understanding conflicts with the conviction of authorities in Germany that Madeleine is dead, and they know “who did the deed”, albeit they have yet to present charges (click here).
