Mad Hatters raise money for Poppy Appeal

More than €200 was raised at a ‘curry and quiz’ night at Mad Hatters Riverside Bar in Tavira last week.

“We have always supported the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal,” said Kevin Bain. “We get a number of visitors who have served in Afghanistan and Iraq as well as several Falkland War veterans and their heroism is an inspiration to us all.”

The ‘Red & Black Army’ team of Barbara Hiskett, Mike Wreford, Vicki and Larry Bawden narrowly won the quiz and immediately donated their prize money to swell the Appeal’s coffers.

In addition, a raffle raised extra monies and early indications are that the patrons of the Mad Hatters Riverside Bar will have raised more than €400 for the appeal.
