American R&B and soul singer-songwriter Macy Gray is coming to Portugal for two concerts on November 23 at Aula Magna in Lisbon and on November 24 at Hard Club in Porto.
Macy Gray is also a record producer and actress, famed for her distinctive raspy voice and a singing style heavily influenced by Billie Holiday and Betty Davis.
To date, she has released five studio albums, one compilation album and one live album, with her fifth studio album, The Sellout, released in June this year.
“The Sellout is about all the mountains I’ve been climbing to be where I want to be in my personal and professional life. It is most certainly my best work. It includes a duet with the legendary Bobby Brown and performances by the best musicians I’ve ever known,” said Macy Gray.
She has received five Grammy Award nominations and won one.
Macy Gray has appeared in a number of films including Training Day, Spider-Man, Scary Movie 3, Lackawanna Blues and Idlewild.
Gray is best known for her international hit single I Try, taken from her multi-platinum debut album On How Life Is.
