Mabor tyres back in business

Portuguese tyre company Continental Mabor is set to launch a new brand of budget tyres known as the ‘Sport-Jet3’, six years after commercialising its last product.
The tyres will be sold in Portugal, Belgium, Spain, Poland, the Netherlands and Russia.
Part of German automotive giants Continental, Continental Mabor presented the new tyre on Wednesday (November 26) at the Vasco Sameiro autodrome in Braga. The new product marks the “revitalisation of a symbol of the Portuguese automobile sector,” said general director of Continental Pneus Portugal, José Luís de la Fuente.
The tyres will be produced at a number of Continental factories in Europe, including its factory in Lousado, Famalicão, in the north of Portugal.
According to de la Fuentes, the launch of the ‘Sport-Jet3’ is testament to the “importance” of the Mabor brand in the tire sector.
Established in 1946, Mabor was partially taken over by Continental in 1989 until it became a full-fledged brand of the German company in 1993.
