Portugal’s secretary of state for the environment was at the Iberian Lynx Reproduction Centre in Silves on December 1, to receive the final two specimens of lynx.
Humberto Rosa was at the centre to watch the arrival of Éon and Calabacin.
According to a statement from the Ministry of the Environment, the 16 lynxes living at the centre in Silves will contribute to an Iberian reproduction programme to create a viable population that can one day be released into the wild.
