Lusomundo cinemas to sell Portuguese popcorn

NOS / Lusomundo Cinemas are to start selling Portuguese popcorn.
According to online newspaper Observador, it’s the result of a deal between NOS Lusomundo and Torres Vedras-based producer Agromais, which will be producing 300 tons of corn per year for the chain.
Explained a spokesman, the deal means NOS can back a national producer while reducing its carbon footprint by no longer having to rely on grain shipped from France.
The carbon emissions saving could run to as much as 60%, said the spokesman.
The deal was presented on Thursday (October 23) at a ceremony attended by Minister of Agriculture and Sea Assunção Cristas, NOS Lusomundo Cinemas president Pedro Mota Carmo and General Director of Agromais Jorge Neves.
