Luso-Dutch jihadi bride sentenced to four and a half years in jail

A court in Rotterdam has today condemned a Luso-Dutch former ‘jihadi bride’ to four and a half years in jail. Ângela Barreto returned to Holland from Syria after six years, in which she was married to three fighters (consecutively).  She was accused of integrating and collaborating with a terrorist organisation – something she has said through her lawyers that she regrets. Dutch prosecutors however, do not believe her, says SIC television news. They also stress she recruited other girls to the DAESH cause. It is understood that 26-year-old Ms Barreto will be appealing her sentence. She is currently being held in preventive custody in a jail outside Amsterdam.
