Lunch and auction to raise funds for horses

A charity lunch to support ARC Horse Welfare in their work to save and rehome horses destined for the slaughterhouse will take place on Saturday, May 24 in the Algarve.
The event starts at 11.30am in Luz de Tavira and costs €15 per person with €5 going to the charity. There will be an auction to raise funds, with one of the items being a long weekend in a property in the Ria Formosa.
ARC Horse Welfare provides support for at-risk horses in the Algarve. Since its creation, it has helped approximately 300 horses in some way, from receiving and dealing with reports of neglect, to monitoring horses in fields and providing owners with food, medicine and vet care. ARC became an official non-profit association in May 2013, under the banner of the Peta Birch Community Association.
Bookings must be made by May 18 and directions to the venue will be sent to those attending.
