As the country squares for yet another two-week period of State of Emergency with no let up in measures of lockdown, today’s Covid bulletin has registered the lowest number of deaths since November: 50 in the last 24-hours. New cases registered came in at 1,480, while 3,078 people have been pronounced ‘recovered’ after testing positive for the virus. Active case numbers nationally are now down to 75.396. The total number of deaths in Portugal since the start of the pandemic has reached 16,136. Of the 50 in today’s bulletin, 31 were patients in the Lisbon/ Vale do Tejo area, 7 were registered in the north, 7 in the centre, 4 in the Alentejo and one in Madeira. Numbers in hospitals are down to 2,767 (of which 567 are in intensive care).
