The seventh round of the World Supersport Championship did not quite work out as hoped for the Parkalgar Honda team.

Number one rider Sam Lowes began the race in Brno, Czech Republic from sixth place on the grid and briefly challenged for the lead before fading back into sixth.

“I got an ok start and felt good on my Parkalgar Honda,” the young Englishman explained afterwards. “I was working my way through the field and closing the gap on the leader when I lost grip in my tyres. Sixth was the best I could do under the circumstances.”

Team mate Miguel Praia looked to be on target for his best race of the season when threatening to take eighth place but crashed out unhurt on lap 15.

Team manager Simon Buckmaster is now looking forward to July 31 when Lowes should be able to make the most of his ‘home’ advantage at Silverstone.
