Last Saturday night Loulé was the scene of a popular march – past during which 400 people took to the streets in the square near the Monumento Eng Duarte Pacheco in Loulé, to celebrate the festive spirit of popular saints. The saints are a tourist and cultural attraction in the area and in the Algarve as a whole, a longstanding tradition going back many years. The theme of this particular march was toil at sea, although the little girl pictured seems to be working hard at having fun.
