Through the “Os Quatro Unidos” association, hunters help with surveillance, prevention and first response thanks to their deep knowledge of the territory.
The Municipality of Loulé announced it had signed a protocol with the Association of Hunters, “Os Quatro Unidos”, based in the parish of Alte. The entity became part of the Municipal Device for the Defense of the Forest Against Fires, which now counts 19 county associations and hunter’s clubs.
The signed agreement provides incentives and support mechanisms for hunters to be active agents in protecting the forest area. Within the scope of this protocol, the Municipality will allocate a financial contribution for the association members to purchase their first fire intervention equipment kit and provide training to teach them how to handle it.
This partnership with hunters is an added value in surveillance, prevention and first response, as well as in supporting the fight against rural fires, thanks to hunters’ deep knowledge of the territory.
