Loulé Council has lamented the death of Joaquim Vairinhos who served as the municipality’s mayor between 1990 and 1999, when he left the council to take up a position as European MP for the Socialist Party (PS).
Vairinhos passed away on Monday, April 11 at the age of 77. He held many important positions in the Algarve and was among the founders of Loulé’s Casa da Cultura culture centre and the local tennis and rugby clubs.
