The first event of its kind in the region takes place on September 23 to help promote “smooth urban mobility”.
The city of Loulé is hosting the region’s first Urban and Electric Bicycle Users’ Meeting on September 23 to celebrate smooth urban mobility as a response to the sustainable development objectives of cities and the population’s well-being.
The event is part of the fourth edition of the Algarve’s Environment and Vegan Fair (FAVA – Feira do Ambiente e Vegan do Algarve), which will take place on September 22 and 23 in the city’s Municipal Park. This unique gathering is also part of a network of events created to mark European Mobility Week and European Car Free Day in the Municipality of Loulé.
“We are aware that adopting a more environmentally friendly lifestyle is imperative. This concentration is an opportunity to be with bicycle enthusiasts, share experiences and witness how choosing urban and electric bicycles instead of fuel-powered vehicles can contribute to a future with less environmental impact and more social benefits”, says the organisation, run by Benfazer, a non-profit association in the Algarve.
The Urban and Electric Bicycle Users’ Meeting is free of charge and has the support of the Loulé City Council and Decathlon.
