Loulé Hospital becomes reality

news: Loulé Hospital becomes reality

LOULÉ Câmara, the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Loulé and Hospitais Privados de Portugal have signed final protocols that will allow for the reconstruction and remodelling of Loulé’s Hospital da Misericórdia.

The hospital is due for completion by the second half of next year. The aim is to create a unit of complementary healthcare linking the public and private sectors. The hospital will integrate an area linked to the National Health Service, composed of 15 beds available for patients discharged from the District Hospital but who still require help and nursing before returning home. Another private area, composed of 26 beds, managed by Hospitais Privados de Portugal, will house operating theatres and external consultations specialising in various fields.

The Hospital da Misericórdia de Loulé will serve patients (National Health Service or private sector patients) seeking surgery or a simple consultation in all the municipalities of the Loulé borough. Patients will no longer have to travel to other parts of the country to seek treatment.
