Loulé delivers protective gear to local health centres

Loulé council has donated €16,000-worth of protective equipment to doctors and nurses at the borough’s health centres.

The equipment was delivered to the Centros de Saúde of Almancil-Boliqueime, Quarteira and Loulé, and includes protective garments and clogs, with “specific characteristics aimed at protecting 155 health professionals during a pandemic like the one we are living”.

Protective gear was also distributed among civil protection workers who have had a “key role in supporting citizens and implementing the measures that were decided by the council in the last few weeks”.

“We remain alert and will not give up at a time when, more than ever, our citizens need support from their council,” says Loulé Mayor Vítor Aleixo.

“We have channeled all our efforts into trying to stop this pandemic. With this initiative, we aim to help those on the frontline by contributing to the provision of personal protective equipment.”
