Loulé council buys new €400,000 fire truck

Loulé’s firefighters have a new €400,000 fire truck that can be used in several emergency situations from urban and industrial fires to vehicle extrication.

The vehicle can also be used to respond to accidents with electrical equipment, lift heavy objects with a crane, shore up structures that are at risk of collapse and rescue people from confined spaces.

Loulé council, which bought the new truck for the local firefighters, describes the vehicle as the only one of its kind “south of the Tejo River”, adding that it features state-of-the-art equipment.

It also says that the vehicle will be a big help to the local firemen, making their rescue efforts faster and more effective.
