A 200-space car park is being built near Loulé’s Social Security building on a plot of land which was already being used as a makeshift parking area.
Construction started on Monday, April 27, and works are expected to last “240 days”.
There will be parking spaces for cars, motorcycles and bicycles and access will be via the A Voz de Loulé street.
The works are being carried out by company José de Sousa Barra & Filhos Lda and will cost around €435,000.
“The car park is another step towards improving public spaces in Loulé town centre and aims to address the lack of free parking,” said Loulé Mayor Vítor Aleixo.
