ANA SA, the company responsible for airports in Portugal, has been offered the rights to prepare the plans for the new municipal aerodrome near Loulé.
Studies are to be undertaken to determine the possible size of the aerodrome and amount of traffic that will be using the facility. This is expected to take six months to complete.
A spokesman for Loulé Câmara has said that this is one of the most important projects for the future of the county over the next few decades.
