A lorry driver awarded €258,000 in damages against Brisa motorway concession after ‘safety barriers’ failed to protect his truck from careering off a viaduct has heard that his 10-year battle for justice is indeed ‘back at first base’.
Pedro Lobo’s bid to take the case to the Supreme Court has failed.
Say reports, the driver, with lifelong issues following the incident, will have to fight for ‘more years’ if he is to receive any kind of compensation for the accident.

The only possibility now is for the case to go to the Leiria Fiscal and Administrative court, which is a long way from Pedro Lobo’s place of residence.
In unrelated reports, figures released for Brisa’s profits this year showed the company registered a 35.5% increase in the first period of 2019, translating into gains of €83.2 million and a daily average increase in traffic of 6%.
