PGA European Tour debutant Ricardo Santos began his 2012 golf season in South Africa yesterday (Thursday).
The 29-year-old Algarve pro teed off at the African Open and will stay on to compete in this month’s subsequent Joburg Open and Volvo Golf Champions in the same country.
Santos completed a bicycle ride from Faro to Fátima over Christmas in keeping with a promise made ahead of last season’s success and has agreed to another challenge should he manage to maintain his place amongst the European elite this year.
