The third ‘Moving to Portugal’ seminar will be held on Monday, October 23 at the Pestana Chelsea Bridge Hotel in central London.
Organised by the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce in the UK, the event aims to offer answers to the questions on the minds of UK-based property buyers thinking of moving to Portugal.
Last May’s seminar at the Lord’s Cricket Ground attracted close to 500 registered people who were keen to learn about moving to the country.
Speakers include representatives from the worlds of finance, real estate, legal and insurance.
The event’s seminars focus on some of the practical aspects UK nationals should consider, such as “where to move to, what to be aware of when buying property, how the ‘non-habitual residence’ rules work, how taxation works, what the implications of Brexit are and how to act when the pound improves against the euro.”
As organisers point out: “For many years, UK nationals wanting to retire to sunnier climes with a relaxing quality lifestyle have chosen to move to Portugal.
“From the golf courses, beaches and restaurants in the Algarve to the vineyards and culture of Porto, Lisbon and the north, there is a villa and lifestyle to suit all.”
They add: “On top of that, UK nationals can benefit from the very favourable ‘non-habitual residence’ tax rules during their first 10 years in Portugal.”
The Open Media group is an official media partner for the event and will be providing copies of Essential Algarve magazine and a special edition of the Algarve Resident with a Moving to Portugal supplement, to all attendees.
Attendance is free of charge but all attendees need to register. To register your interest, please email [email protected]
