Local referendum “could be solution” to Faro camping wrangle

A referendum “could be the solution” to the ongoing wrangle over the Faro Island camping site, which has been closed since 2003.

So far, all of PSD’s proposals to reopen the camping grounds as a parking lot have been rejected by the opposition parties (PS and CDU).

Another proposal will be put forward next week and, if it is not accepted, the party says it will propose a “local referendum” so that it will be the people deciding what should be done with the land.
