Sailing’s European ‘420 Class’ Championships will draw to a close in Tavira today (Friday). At the time of going to press, some of Portugal’s 14 team entries among the 280 sailors representing 16 countries were entertaining high hopes of a podium finish. Two second places on Sunday afternoon saw Tavira’s own Luis Niza and Paulo Baptista lying in fourth overall while Patricia Costa and Inês Guimarães were well-placed in 13th among the female competitors.
