ON INTERNATIONAL Day of Disabled Persons (December 3), the Civil Governor of Faro recently appealed to local Algarve businesses to adhere to government programmes to help the integration of disabled people.
Speaking during the day’s celebrations at Faro’s Jardim Manuel Bívar, Isilda Gomes said: “These people can carry out diverse tasks perfectly but it is necessary for us to open our doors to them.” The day saw theatre, dance, folklore, jazz and sporting events throughout the region.
