Lagoa Choir Week is back this year for its 16th edition bringing together local, national and international choirs.
Jointly organised by cultural association Ideias do Levante and Lagoa council, the choir week is described as an event that unites groups of singers to present an eventful agenda of melody and harmony.
This year’s edition between May 17 and 24 will feature four national and international choirs – CRAMOL, a group of female singers from Lisbon; the choir of the International School of the Algarve; the Chapel Choir from the UK and Coral Ideias do Levante.
The opening concert is scheduled for 5pm on May 17, at Convento S. José, and will feature CRAMOL.
Next up will be Coral Ideias do Levante, to perform at the Centro Pastoral e Social de Ferragudo on May 21, at 9pm. Performances by the Chapel Choir and the International School Choir follow at Estômbar church on May 23 at 7pm, and finally, the closing concert will take place at the municipal auditorium, presenting the Chapel Choir, the International School Choir, and Coral Ideias do Levante.
Admission to all the concerts is free.
