LIVRE may decide to free itself from stuttering MP

Livre votes to withdraw confidence from Portugal’s first black female MP

Livre, the political party that won its first seat in parliament last October with Portugal’s first black woman MP has voted to withdraw confidence in her after weeks of embarrassing conflict which came to a head last weekend. Joacine Katar Moreira screamed in fury at the party’s assembly, accusing them of racism and prejudice.

With both sides now calmed, Joacine has intimated she is willing to compromise.

Livre is quoted as having said it will take a miracle to re-estabish any kind of working relationship.
