Liverpool Football Club train at Barringtons

LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL Club arrived at Barringtons Golf and Health Spa in Vale do Lobo on Monday lunchtime to begin five days training in preparation for their Champions League match in Spain against Barcelona on February 21. This is a very low key visit and, at the time of going to print, no press conference had been arranged.

Manager, Rafael Benitez is said to have chosen to bring the team to the Algarve due to the climate being very similar to that of Barcelona. It has also been reported that at the moment, the club’s pitches at home are not in the best condition.

Relaxing

As well as the training sessions on Barrington’s football pitch, The Resident was informed that a specially equipped gym has been set up for the exclusive use of the players during their visit and that all catering is being done in-house by the leisure club’s chef, with guidance from the football club’s medical team.

“The team are enjoying their stay here,” said Graham Stewart, general manager at Barringtons. “Barringtons has all the facilities they should need in terms of training. Everything is on site including a training pitch, gymnasium and spa facilities.”

As well as daily training sessions, the 2006 FA Cup winners and 2005 Champions League winners will be playing golf and enjoying all the leisure facilities the Algarve has to offer during their free time.
