THE OCEÂNICO Group welcomed visitors to an Open Day held recently at its new Estrela da Luz resort in Praia da Luz.
Kiss FM DJ, Owen Gee, broadcast live from the resort’s Hugo Beaty Bar & Café, providing great music and lively atmosphere, while visitors enjoyed tapas and light bites.
Those in the know entered a competition, entitled “Where can you find Hugo Beaty’s burial place?”, and the winning ticket, drawn by eight-year-old Naomi Anderson, was for a meal for two at the resort’s Calabaza restaurant.
At the Estrela’s health and beauty facility, visitors saw demonstrations, on live models, of the Elemis beauty treatments on offer and had the opportunity to discuss them with the beauty therapists. In the gymnasium, instructors were on hand to demonstrate the Technogym equipment and maybe inspire a few to convert to a keep-fit lifestyle!
In the indoor area, housing the heated pool, jacuzzi and sauna, children were offered free swimming sessions with a qualified coach. On the multipurpose sports area, there was supervised basketball and football.
At the Aura Galeria de Arte, freestyle painting sessions were on offer for children and the opening of a new exhibition of paintings by Roger Green and Kasia Wrona attracted a crowd, who also enjoyed a glass of wine while getting to know the artists and their work. Later in the day, the focus was back at the Hugo Beaty Bar & Café, where chefs gave impressive culinary demonstrations. For the evening’s entertainment, there were performances by Derek Slade, and Branded and Frankie Dean Jnr.
