Associação Obrigado Bombeiros continues its commitment to raise funds for local firefighters with a live music extravaganza in Carvoeiro in May.
The A-May-Zing music event will be held on Saturday, May 18 at Carvoeiro Tennis Club and is the charity’s first event for 2019. All proceeds will go to the Silves Fire Truck Appeal, set up to fund an urgently-needed new vehicle for Silves fire station.
Tickets for the musical evening cost €25 per person and include a BBQ dinner and welcome drink with live music from 6pm until late, “performed by some of the Algarve’s best musicians”, say organisers.
Among the well-known musicians from across the region, who will be donating their time and talent to perform and support the cause, are Althea Browne, Murphy, Meadowsweet/New Moon, The Evidence, Ivan & Company and Beto Kalulu.
Associação Obrigado Bombeiros committee member and event co-ordinator Jackie Meadows said: “Carvoeiro Tennis Club is a superb venue for our May musical event. Everyone who buys a ticket can expect a lively and entertaining evening and will be contributing towards the purchase of a much-needed new vehicle for Silves.”
Funds raised by Associação Obrigado Bombeiros in 2018 were used to fund lifesaving equipment and protective clothing for both Silves and Lagoa firefighters.
