Lagoa beauty spot to host 17th Jazz Fest

Lagoa Jazz Fest is returning for its 17th edition between Friday and Sunday (July 1-3) to the Sítio das Fontes beauty spot in Estômbar.

Performances will be divided between the main stage and a secondary stage.

Switzerland’s VEIN Trio will begin the festivities on July 1, followed by Portugal’s 4teto de Desidério Lázaro.

Poland’s Motion Trio will be the sole act on the main stage on Saturday, while two Spanish acts – José Luis Kaele Trio and 5teto de António Lizana – will bring the main stage concerts to a close on Sunday.

The secondary stage entertainment includes Ally Garrido Duo on Friday, Tercio Nanook on Saturday and Paulo Ramos & António Mardel on Sunday.

“Throughout its 16 editions, it has earned positive reviews from specialised press and gratifying praise from the public and national and international artists who visited us and who manifested their delight with the hospitality and logistical and technical conditions they were provided,” the local council says.

Daily tickets cost €10 and can be purchased online at or at Fnac, Worten, the Carlos do Carmo auditorium, the São José convent or Lagoa’s Balcão Único, as well as at the venue on the days of the event, with a 20% discount available to holders of Lagoa’s cultural passport or social card.
