Lithuania ‘opens up to tourists’, no questions asked

Lithuania has today put itself on the map for being one of the most open European states, ready to receive anyone from the EU/EEA and even some from non-EU countries, with no Covid questions or restrictions in place. That means no requirement to show a vaccine certificate, documentation of recovery from the virus, or a negative test. The decision taken by the Lithuanian government “follows the recommendations of the World Health Organisation to lift or ease travel restrictions, as pro-longed strict COVID-19 measures can potentially cause economic and social harm”, says a press release sent to newsdesks. Perhaps the only ‘fly in the ointment’ is that this message goes out as tensions in eastern Europe are runnning so high due to Russia’s military build-up on Ukrainian borders.
