Events will be taking place across the Algarve until Sunday as part of the first literary festival of the Algarve, Lit.ALGARVE.
The festival aims to create a meeting place for authors, poets, literary agents, translators, publishers and readers with various workshops, lectures and presentations making up the programme of events.
Lit.ALGARVE organiser Barbara Fellgiebel told the Algarve Resident: “This is the first year of the event but ideally we would like to hold it annually. The Algarve is already a well known destination but not for literature and I would like to be able to use this event to put the region on the map as a centre for literature and culture.”
Events will be taking place in various locations across the Algarve to enable as many people as possible to attend locally, and will be taking place in English, Portuguese, German, Swedish and Dutch.
