Listening, feeling, reading

Whatever your interest in literature, the Lit.ALGARVE festival is sure to have something to appeal to readers and writers of all ages.

Visitors to the inaugural Lit.ALGARVE festival will be able to meet with 50 authors from eight countries in 20 locations across the Algarve between September 16 and 19.

There will be several events for English speaking visitors to the festival with the Holiday Inn Algarve in Armação de Pêra hosting a literary dinner on September 16 from 7.30pm with author Jill Fraser, who will be discussing her book More Tea Less Vicar during a three-course meal with wine and coffee at a cost of 28 Euros per person.

On September 17, there will then be a literary lunch at the Holiday Inn Algarve from 12.30pm.

Jill Fraser will return with Swedish authors Mian Lodalen and Maria Sveland for a discussion over a buffet lunch costing 20 Euros per person.

The final event at the hotel will be a book signing on September 18 in the Bar Boa Vista with Iris Galey, Jill Fraser, Mary O’Donnell, Éilís NíDhuibhne and Lisa Selvidge.

Meanwhile, other English language events will also include an introduction to the book Algarve Now and Then by Jenny Grainer in the Casa-Museu Manuel Teixeira Gomes in Portimão on September 17 from 6pm, while a literary presentation by Irish author James Ryan is to take place at the Museu do Trajo in São Brás de Alportel from 8pm, also on September 17.
