Lisbon will be hosting a 10 minute long fireworks display over the Tejo River from midnight on New Year’s Eve.
The show, entitled Onda de Fogo, Wave of Fire, will include the launch of 10,000 fireworks starting at the Vasco da Gama tower, then from platforms in the river along a 500 metre long extension.
Residents and visitors to the city are invited to Parque das Nações to celebrate the New Year and watch the display, sponsored by Portuguese beer brand Super Bock.
