Lisbon’s Hospital Particular “up for grabs”

The assets of Lisbon’s Hospital Particular – the first private hospital in the country – are being sold, and have to date made 82.150 euros. Added to this is another 12.000 euros which has been recovered in ‘old debts’.
The sad end to the hospital which closed down two years ago was precipitated by debts of around 14 million euros.
The hospital’s administration made a bid for PER funding (the government’s revitalization fund) but this was refused last April, which led to the sale of assets.
