THE NEVER-ENDING saga of Lisbon’s Marquês de Pombal tunnel bypass looks set to continue beyond the summer.
The project was initially due to be completed in June this year, following engineering problems, delays due to elections and legal mishaps. The engineers are currently working around the clock to correct a number of fault cracks and reinforce the structure, something which has to be carried out because of its proximity to the existing metro tunnel infrastructure.
