Lisbon to resurrect ‘wild cat’ colonies “to protect public health”

Operation ‘Cat Patrol is underway in Lisbon’, and it’s designed to protect public health – not because ‘cats are good for us’ (though many would argue that they are) but because they keep rodents at bay. And rodents, particularly of the larger kind, are an increasing problem in the busy capital.

Say reports, if successful ‘Patrulha Gato’, approved by Lisbon City Council, will be rolled out to other towns.
