Lisbon tax

LISBON CÂMARA is proposing to impose the maximum rate of 0.8 per cent of the IMI, a property tax, on all the houses in the city and to double that limit on houses that are closed or abandoned.

The proposal also includes a reduction of 10 per cent for all the houses and buildings whose owners decide to rent in a move designed to stimulate the rental market in the capital.

The socialist majority ruling the Lisbon Câmara is also considering to raise the IRS, the tax over people’s revenues, and the Derrama tax, which is a tax collected from the business activity in the city.
