Lisbon ready to cede land for creation of accessible housing

Lisbon City Council wants to cede municipal land to non-profit private entities prepared to construct ‘accessible housing’. The plan is for 500 homes for cooperatives, and 1,000 for concessions, head of housing Filipa Roseta has explained. And the idea is that these properties would be leased to their incumbents, “never sold”, so that at the end of a long leasehold (75-90 years), the properties would return to ownership of the city council.
