Lisbon police bikers threaten mass transfer request

As many as 70 PSP bikers are threatening a mass transfer request from Lisbon’s traffic division, saying they feel their role has been “trivialised in relation to all the others”: “We work in the rain with minimum conditions, with oilcloths that let water in through the seams and without the proper boots”, a source told Correio da Manhã – adding that even their tape measures are “incomplete”.

The sorry state of affairs – which has seen many with only four weekends off this year – has led to the idea to put in for a block transfer, said the paper.

The unhappy bikers have met with their PSP commander, but as yet no solutions have been reached.

All CM has managed to find out is that “new uniforms offering better protection should be arriving soon”.
