Lisbon has been named the ‘Best City or Short-Break Destination’ in Ireland’s Travel Media Awards 2015, which took place on September 11 at the Westbury Hotel in Dublin.
The event organized by TravelMedia.ie, a Dublin-based communications and social-media company, features votes from members of Irish media.
Lisbon was one of the 25 winners of the night, and its tourism association has already celebrated the distinction.
“This prize is a result of the promotional effort that Lisbon has been developing for several years, using its dynamic, innovative and diversified offer of tourism to promote itself in external markets,” the capital’s tourism association said in a statement.
It is not the first international distinction the capital received this year.
