Lisbon’s Metro network is closed yet again today due to strike action. FECTRANS, the federation of transport syndicates, has asked for the public’s understanding. Huge queues were in evidence during the rush-hour period today as people desperately tried to make early morning appointments using buses instead. The strikes, which have been affecting the Metro for the last week, are over frozen salaries and negligible opportunities for career advancement.
