Lisbon makes list of “world’s friendliest cities”

Lisbon has made the top-30 list of the “world’s friendliest cities” published online by Travel+Leisure, a New York-based travel magazine.

Placed 28th, the Portuguese capital is praised for its residents’ “helpfulness and grace”.

Although the city is “best explored via historic trolley”, the magazine also recommends putting on a “great pair of shoes to see the sights on foot”.

Travel+Leisure also mentions Portuguese food, explaining how “great emphasis” is put on fresh fish and wine.

Irish city Galway topped the list of friendliest cities, followed by Charleston (USA) and Dublin (Ireland).
