Olhanense anticipate that at least 1,000 of their fans will descend on the Alvalade Stadium tomorrow (Saturday) for the match against Sporting.
The Lisbon side, one point ahead of Olhanense in Liga Zon Sagres, had an impressive Europa League win away at Danish side Brondby. After losing the home leg 2-0, Sporting surprised everyone by winning the away leg 3-0, with the winner coming in the 90th minute.
Sporting manager Paulo Sérgio, who was in charge at Olhanense from 2003 to 2006, will not take the Algarveans lightly remembering last season’s encounter when the visitors raced into a 2-0 lead.
Finally losing 3-2, Olhanense were denied a point by a refereeing decision that is still talked about by fans.
